Fire Breaks Out at Wildcat Burgers, Close Call for Joe Cotten's

It was like reliving a nightmare for the owners of Joe Cotten's Barbecue overnight, when a call from police roused restaurant owner Michael Cotten out of bed.

"And told me that my building was on fire, and was just like, you got to be kidding me," Cotten said. "There's no way this is going to happen again."

Lucky for the Cotten's, it didn't; but a blaze did break out around 12:30 a.m. at Wildcat Burgers right next door to Joe Cotten's Barbecue.

Investigators believe the fire started in the kitchen. That damage was minimal, however, smoke from the blaze did make its way into Joe Cotten's.

In March of 2011, the famous barbecue joint out on Highway 44 was burned down by a fire.
"Very minimal. A few tiles and smoke damage, and that kind of stuff," said Larry Faucett, who owns the building. "Nothing major. Door replacements."

Cotten's was cleared to open up for business in time for lunch on Monday. It will take a few days for the folks at Wildcat Burgers before they will be able to do the same.
