Former Student Creates Scholarship for Flour Bluff NJROTC

The National Champion Flour Bluff NJROTC Drill Team is producing leaders and innovators who know how to give back. One of their former cadets started a college scholarship.

"I said you know what? I'm going to start a scholarship and I'm going to do it and give it to a graduating senior," said Captain Michael Barton M.D., a former Flour Bluff NJROTC student.

Captain Barton is a graduate of the class of '95. He is currently finishing his residency in New Orleans. Barton returned to start a scholarship in the name of the team leader, Commander Armando Solis. This year's scholarship is going to graduating senior, Doug Thompson.
