Four Vehicle Accident in Construction Zone on JFK Causeway

Traffic on the westbound side of the JFK Causeway was brought to a standstill just after 11 a.m. Tuesday after four vehicles collided while driving in a construction zone. Two people were injured in the accident and were transported to area hospitals.

According to police, a silver Chevy truck hit an AT&T work truck at a high rate of speed, causing the work truck to strike two other vehicles. Traffic was already down to a single lane because of that construction zone.

"Everybody needs to be aware that there are going to be changes in traffic patterns, and they need to drive accordingly," said Ross Richards of the Corpus Christi Police Department.

When the accident happened, the JFK Causeway was completely blocked. Eventually, police began directing drivers around the crash slowly as they tried to clear the scene.
