Freed Man Wrongfully Accused of Homicide Speaks Out

A man wrongfully identified and arrested for a fatal stabbing in Flour Bluff last week is speaking out about the dramatic turn of events that set him free.

"I told them, 'I'm innocent.' They gave me a polygraph test. They said I flunked. I don't know how," said 47-year old Mark Baker, who was arrested last Wednesday and charged in the fatal stabbing of 24-year old Samuel Moore.

The homicide occurred near Waldron Road and Fawn Drive last Tuesday. At the time, police believed that the two had an altercation of some kind; but then, a witness came forward and admitted to police that he had identified the wrong man.

"I got in my little cage. I looked up and asked the lord, 'I know I don't talk to you much, but I really need your help.' Four hours later, they let me go," Baker said. "God does work in mysterious ways. He knew I was innocent. I knew I was innocent."

Another man, 47-year old Marty Warford, later turned himself in to face the murder charges. Those charges have now been filed.
