Gas Prices Expected to Continue Falling Through Christmas

According to Dr. Jim Lee, professor of economics at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, the fact that we haven't had a major hurricane in the U.S. this year is helping drive gas prices down.

Lee said South Texas is doing its part by producing a million more barrels of oil a day than this time last year. Meanwhile, a petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com said the prices will drop even more by Christmas.

As of right now, the average price in Texas for a gallon of gasoline is $3.29, according to AAA. Those prices are expected to fall quickly.
