German Bakery Owners Receive Extension on their Visas

The owners of a popular German bakery on Padre Island who as recently as a few weeks ago faced the threat of deportation, have received an extension on their visas.

Brigitte and Jurgen Kazenmayer own JB's Strudel Mania. The extension of their visas will allow them to stay in the country and move forward with their plans to open a new bakery.

It was just back in early December when the Kazenmayers were given 30 days to leave the country.

"Very happy. It's a lot of relief, and yeah, to open the new shop," Brigitte Kazenmayer said. "It's most exciting. We are still working on details, but it was a good thing. Like you said, one step closer."

She said the Strudel Mania on Holly Road just opened last week.
