Grow Local South Texas Hosting Community Learning Garden Workshops

Produce tastes so much better when grown locally -- that is the message that nonprofit Grow Local South Texas hopes to spread with its Community Learning Garden.

The year-old garden at 3808 Up River Road, near the old Saxet neighborhood, is a place for the community to learn how to grow their own produce using techniques from other gardeners. Volunteers are invited to work on the garden Tuesday mornings and Thursday and Sunday evenings. There will also be a seed sprouting workshop at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
