Help the Philippine Storm Relief Effort in the Coastal Bend

The most powerful storm ever to make landfall battered the Philippines with winds approaching 200 miles per hour early Friday.

At least four people have been reported dead, but those are just early reports. There are rising fears of widespread damage.

Among those fearing the worst, but hoping for the best, are a number of people right here in the Coastal Bend who have relatives still living in southeast Asia.

Kiii News Reporter Rudy Trevino met with some of them on Friday.

If you want to help in the local Philippine relief effort, you can drop off food donations at the Asian Market on SPID, or take monetary donations to Katz 21 or the Coastal Community and Teachers Credit Union, account number 2072420.
