Homeland Security Hearing to Discuss Influx of Young Immigrants

The recent influx of young immigrants fleeing the Mexican border and coming to the U.S. is a story that has touched a raw nerve on both sides of the immigration debate.

Recently, 3News went down to McAllen, Texas, to one of the detention centers where the young illegal immigrants have been placed while waiting for the immigration process to work itself out.

In hopes of finding answers to the problem, a Department of Homeland Security committee met Thursday in McAllen for a special hearing. Among those in attendance was Congressman Blake Farenthold.

Jessie Delgado with our ABC affiliate in San Antonio was there with more details.
