Student Residents Can Return Sunday Beginning at Noon,
Designated Essential Personnel Will Return Sunday Afternoon
To Have Classes and Operations Back to Normal Monday
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi officials met today to confirm the procedures this weekend for reopening the campus to normal operations on Monday (Sept. 15) morning. All faculty and staff are expected to return to campus Monday. All classes are expected to be in session Monday.
Students who were relocated to Texas A&M International University in Laredo will be returned to their campus residences by early Sunday (Sept. 14) afternoon. Campus entry will be open at 12:00 p.m. Sunday (noon) to all students residing on campus.
University Police, who are responsible for the safety and security of the University, will limit access to the campus throughout Sunday, allowing entry only to residential students and essential University personnel.
The Camden Miramar residential complex management plans to have their facility fully operational by noon Sunday for the return of student-residents. Although student-residents will be allowed into their rooms beginning at noon, these students will not be allowed to enter any other University buildings until Monday morning.
Physical Plant staff will begin Sunday morning to remove sand bags and other safety materials to provide access to buildings for essential personnel who need to bring laboratories and other facilities back to active status.
University officials said that while it is the hope of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to have most services, classrooms and laboratories operational by the beginning of classes on Monday (Sept. 15) morning, staff will continue to work throughout the day to bring the campus back to normal operation.
