Ingrid Upgraded to a Category One Hurricane Producing Winds of 75 mph

2nd Hurricane of the Atlantic Season is upon us. Ingrid, a category one storm, is producing winds of 75 mph sustained with gusts of 92 mph.

Ingrid has drifted NE into more favorable oceanic and atmospheric conditions over the past 24 hours, allowing for strengthening. Ingrid will turn sharply to the west over the next 24-36 hours and head for Tampico, Mexico.

Because of intensification, Ingrid will now have more of a pull on surrounding moisture, lowering the amount of potential rain we could see from this system.
