Investigators say Fire at Vacant Home May Have Been Arson

Flames broke out at a vacant house on the city's westside Friday, and investigators believe it may have been a case of arson. The fire was visible at around 1 a.m. at the home on Barrera Street and Bloomington. Investigators said most of the damage was to the exterior porch of the home.

"It appears the fire was set," said Captain James Brown of the Corpus Christi Fire Department. "We do have some suspects that were named, so we'll be following up on that. That's basically where we are right now."

Firefighters had the blaze out in a matter of minutes, and no one was injured.
