CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team is looking to improve upon their up and down their 2011 season. and they're trying to do that by beefing up their non-conference schedule.
The Islanders will have to face Baylor, TCU, SMU and North Texas, all on the road or in a neutral environment, and all within a three week stretch of each other.
The Islanders will begin and end conference play in 2012 at home against Central Arkansas and McNeese St. respectively. They'll play their first game against new conference foe Oral Roberts on September 15th at the Dugan Wellness Center.
A&M-CC only has one senior on the roster, but returns 10 players from last year's team that finished 13-20 and 5-11 in Southland Conference play.
