Judge Reduces Bond for 26-Year Old Bank Robbery Suspect

Seanette Villarreal, the 26-year old woman accused of robbing the Value Bank in the 3700 block of Staples almost two weeks ago, appeared before a judge Thursday morning.

Villarreal asked that 148th District Court Judge Guy Williams reduce her bond from $100,000 to $20,000. Her attorney said she is not a flight risk, as she is a single mother with custody of three children and she has a job.

The prosecutor, however, said Villarreal allegedly robbed a bank, and that is a serious crime.

Ultimately, Judge Williams decided to reduce Villarreal's bond to $20,000. If she is able to bond out, she will be monitored via GPS, and will have other conditions to adhere to.
