Kicking Off Spring Break in the Coastal Bend

Spring Break officially kicked off Friday, with high school and college students from the Coastal Bend and all over the state making their way to the beaches.

Kiii News Reporter Michael Gibson went Live from J.P. Luby Surf Park while Reporter Brian Burns went Live from Port Aransas with all the details about this first day of Spring Break.

Meanwhile, a quick reminder that the Port Aransas Ferry provides free transportation service seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The short ride connects Mustang Island and Port Aransas with the mainland Aransas Pass.

Each ferry can carry up to 20 regular passenger vehicles. Combined vehicles, such as a truck towing a boat, may not be longer than 80 feet or wider than 13 feet. Single-axle vehicles can weigh no more than 20,000 pounds, and combination vehicles can not exceed a total of 80,000 pounds.

Also, for those visiting Corpus Christi for Spring Break and looking for other things to do around town besides going to the beach, there is a lot going on downtown and in North Beach as well.
