Kingsville ISD Superintendent Addresses Bus Fight Video

The Kingsville Independent School District superintendent spoke out for the first time Tuesday about a disturbing cell phone video taken on a moving school bus, showing two middle school girls fighting.

"As a parent, as a dad, and also as superintendent, I found it very disturbing," Superintendent Edward Blaha said. "It's behavior that is unacceptable, and it really is a moment where we have to go step back and look at, you know, what is our value for what we do with individuals."

3News asked Blaha what bus drivers should do in a situation like the one that was captured on camera.

"Transporting students is a very serious obligation and responsibility, and really, if there is an outburst, or if there is a disturbance, really, we should pull over and try to resolve what's happening on the bus," Blaha said.

Blaha said the district is investigating the school bus fight incident thoroughly, and whatever disciplinary and corrective actions need to be taken will be taken once the investigation is complete.
