Kingsville Toys for Tots Program Shares Concerns

Volunteers with the Toys for Tots program in Kleberg and Kenedy counties began taking inventory Monday of toys that have already been donated.

The campaign coordinator said lots of people out there are struggling and have lost their jobs, and is hoping this program won't suffer as a result.

"I'm concerned this year because of the economy," said Lisa Bockholt of Toys for Tots. "It seems like our traffic here on King Street's a little bit low. Businesses are saying that they're slow, and I'm just concerned this year that maybe people might not be able to be as generous as they have in the past."

The campaign will be accepting new toys through Dec. 15. If you would like to donate, you can drop the toys off, or cash, at the Stop-N-Lube at 921 E. King Ave in Kingsville.
