Kite Competition Teaches Students about Engineering

It was a contest that required students to use their critical thinking skills and have some fun too! The contest happened over at the Texas A&M Corpus Christi campus today.

Middle school and high school students were put to the challenge of building the best kite design. It was all part of the Coastal Bend Engineering 'Kite Design' Competition.

The students were given a set amount of time to build the kite then of course, they had to fly it.

They were judged on everything from the construction of the kite to how well they worked in a team and if it actually flew.

It also gave students a look into a future in engineering.
