Fire crews battled strong winds as flames engulfed a local home.
Officials say the house fire started just before 11:30 last night on Airline between Lipes and Brooke.
Two people were home at the time. They both made it out safely.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
Crews had the flames under control in about 45 minutes.
"We have pretty significant winds this evening so the way it looks from where the fire started it started on the windward side, which made the fire spread faster," said Corpus Christi Fire Department Chief Doug Matthijetz.
The homeowners were homeless for the night.
The red cross was called for assistance.
