League of Women Voters Hosts Candidate's Forum

There are 43 days until the November election, and on Monday night local candidates had a chance to meet their constituents.

The League of Women Voters hosted a candidate's forum at City Hall. It was the first of two forums they will host before the election. Those running for state, county and city offices had a chance to answer questions from the audience and tell them about themselves.

"Voters want to be informed as far as the credentials of each candidate," said Dr. Matilda Saenz of the League of Women Voters. "Where have they been to school? What is their experience? How interested are they in that particular position, and how much experience have they had in the area they plan to represent? And also, how concerned they are in constituents in their districts. I think that is foremost in the voter's mind."

If you missed Monday night's forum, the League of Women Voters will
hold another forum on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
