Lieutenant Governor Candidate's Bus Tour Arrives in Corpus Christi

Texas Agriculture Commissioner and Republican candidate for lieutenant governor Todd Staples rode into town Tuesday as part of his 50-city bus tour of the state.

"Well, it's great to be in the Coastal Bend to announce my campaign for lieutenant governor," Staples said. "This race is really about two things: leadership and results."

Staples' bus tour began in east Texas this week. It has been dubbed the "Leadership for Texas" bus tour, and is expected to last several more weeks.

Among the candidates Staples is battling in the primary race for lieutenant governor are current office holder David Dewhurst, State Senator Dan Patrick, and Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson.
