Local Veteran Selected for All-American Bowl Coin Tossing Ceremony

Ram Chavez is a Vietnam veteran who leads a local veteran band, and now he can add another title to his name.

Chavez was selected to be a part of the coin tossing game ceremony at the 14th annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl featuring the best 90 high school football players from all over. The game takes place Saturday in San Antonio.

The classic East vs. West matchup will be broadcast live at noon Saturday, Jan. 4, and will feature the U.S. Army All-American marching band, comprised of 125 of the nation's finest young marching band musicians, as the half time show.

The game year will mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
