Baby Dies in Parent's Bed

Jeremy Landers

October 23, 2007

The Aransas County Sheriff's Department says a 4 1/2 month old baby girl has died while sleeping in her parent's bed. It happened on Monday.
The child was rushed to Driscoll Children's Hospital, but later died. Autopsy results indicate it was an accident, and the child rolled between the bed and wall, causing her to suffocate.

Investigators say this is a tragedy, and a reason why all parents should resist the urge of bringing their child in bed with them. Babies, medical professionals say belong in cribs, and not left unattended sleeping in adult beds
