(Corpus Christi, April 9, 2008) Since 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, the banks website has been shut down. All the result of a computer hacker who somehow gained access to the site.

The hacker left a picture of a risque cartoon featuring a man inside of a jail cell, who drew a picture of a nude woman on the door. An adult cartoon, American Bank customers discovered after clicking on the financial institutions website.

Customers told 3 News, they were concerned if a hacker could get into a bank's website, how about getting into their money? American Bank representatives say the website is run by a third party company, and it was a secondary page of the banks website that was hacked.

Bank officials say no personal customer bank information is available on that web-page. Only information about bank products and services.

An investigation is now being conducted by the F.B.I.

Any American Bank customers with concerns are urged to contact the customer service center.
