$2 million awarded to Coastal Bend Communities

More than $2 million was awarded to Coastal Bend Communities for infrastructure improvements from the Texas Department of Agriculture.

CORPUS CHRISTI - More than $2 million was awarded to Coastal Bend Communities for infrastructure improvements from the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Several counties in the Coastal Bend got some financial help as the State handed down funds, making stops in Alice, Premont and Beeville. Grants provide assistance to improve road, water and wastewater treatment systems.

The City of Beeville was awarded $300,000 for water treatment system infrastructure improvements.

In all, the Texas Department of Agriculture awarded more than $42 million this year to communities throughout Texas.
