CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The Shop with a Cop program kicked off its 20th annual event Monday by giving back to local children in need.
Organizers said because of such successful fundraising and support from the community, the program was able to help a record number of students.
A total of 80 children from Kingsville, Riviera, and the Ricardo district had the chance to shop with an officer.
Shop with a Cop is also a way for officers to honor the memory of the program's founder, the late Commander Ken Starr, who had a passion for helping children in need.
