Texas AgriiLIfe Extension Service - Nueces County, has partnered with the Nueces County Commissioners Court, the Texas AgriLife Extension Service – Expanded Nutrition Program in Nueces
County, Wesley Nurse Health Ministries, and the YWCA to offer Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes for Nueces County residents.

Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes is a series of nine classes taught by a
registered dietitian and registered nurses. These classes are designed to teach people with type 2 diabetes how to better manage their diabetes and keep blood glucose in ranges recommended by
the American Diabetes Association. During the classes, class members with type 2 diabetes are provided weight and hemoglobin
A1C screenings, as well as education on tools and methods to keep their blood glucose in recommended ranges. Self‐care class topics include What is Diabetes?, Managing Your Blood Sugar,
Diabetes and Exercise, Diabetes Medicines , and Preventing and Managing Complications.

Class size is limited to 15 people with type 2 diabetes and offered free
of charge, so call now to register.

in this class can be placed on a waiting for future classes. The next Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes educational class series will be held September 11 – October 16, 2008, every Thursday from 1:00p to
3:30p at the Hilltop Community Center, 11425 Leopard Street.
