KIIITV News

Representative Solomon Ortiz, a prominent  Democrat and Super Delegate for Hillary Clinton chose not to go to the Democratic National Convention in Denver.  He has, In fact been watching from his home in Corpus Christi.  Ortiz, who has been a vigorous supporter of Hillary Clinton, now says he will back Barack Obama, but he also says obama will have a tough time winning over hispanics here in south texas, despite their tradition of voting for democrats.   As for why he's not in Denver with the rest of the party faithful, he says he's had to fulfill a number of personal committments, including the funeral of a close friend from Robstown...and he's been nursing a fractured foot, which is why the idea of commuting to the convention floor... From the Texas Delegation's hotel 25 miles away, was not exactly enticing.

I don't believe him at all. Had Hillary won the election, he'd be the first one there, fractured foot or no fractured foot. As for the 25 miles away from Convention, it doesn't take that long if you get on the right street. What a cop out! His turn is up soon. For sure he will not get my vote!

I can't believe a "prominent" Democrat can't stand behind his own party. The comments Mr. Ortiz made last night were the most flip-flop I've ever heard. Way to guide the people to unite within the Democratic Party. Ugh.
