8 local women were honored for their contriubtions to the community.
It was all part of the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas "Las Estrellas" awards going on tonight at the Corpus Christi Country Club.
The awards are given in the areas of arts, business, community involvement, education, family, health and law.
This was the 10-th year for the ceremony.
All proceeds raised Wednesday go towards scholarships for women.
