$30,000 seized during Jim Wells County traffic stop

A traffic stop in Jim Wells County Wednesday lead to over $30,000 being taken off the streets.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - A traffic stop in Jim Wells County Wednesday lead to over $30,000 being taken off the streets.

According to Jim Wells County officials, 22-year-old Luis Rios and 20-year-old Vincente Vargas had a traffic violation along County Road 433 near Premont.

A K-9 officer alerted deputies to the cash which was found inside the center console of the vehicle.

Rios and Vargas were charged with money laundering.
