It was an outpouring of emotion Thursday as friends and family remembered a Corpus Christi teenager killed this past weekend in a double-fatal traffic accident.

Two teens died in Sunday's crash on the 3900 block of Lamont. Police are still working on the final accident report that will explain what happened. But, there are those now who are asking why did this have to happen?

"I will miss him everyday," said Mary Madrid. Killed in the accident, Ivan was her youngest son of six children. 18 year old Ivan Madrid was the driver of the car that plowed into the back of a parked dump truck on Lamont. Ivan's front seat passenger, 17 year old Christopher Regino also died. In the backseat, another young man, Tony Vela is still hospitalized.

"As a mother you never want to say goodbye to your son. The parent is not suppose to bury their child," said Madrid.

But, it's become her reality. Several years ago, another son, 26 year old Eric, Ivan's well liked brother, the one Ivan was especially close to, died in a shooting following an altercation at the now closed Nightclub, Club 54.

"My consolation is that I've got a guardian angel on each side until I meet with them again."

As hundreds gathered Thursday afternoon at Ivan's visitation at the Trevino Funeral Home in Corpus Christi she takes time with us to recall blessings, and thanks those friends she calls earth angels who've offered a lot of support during this dark time.

Friday at 10 in the morning a funeral mass is scheduled at Christ the King Catholic Church just off of Arlington Street.

As for 17 year old Christopher Regino, visitation is tomorrow from 9 until 9 at night and at 5PM a memorial service will take place at the Corpus Christi Funeral Home.

My heart goes out to you Ms Madrid and your family. We to lost my little brother, age 18, in a auto accident. To us it doesn't matter what happened....It should not have happened, their life is just beginning and your family's life will forever be changed. You and your family will be in our prayers for the strength to continue on until you meet him again in Heaven.

so what were these "kids" doing out so late anyways..one son gets shot and killed and the other one dies in an accident in the middle of the night...no control at that house...and that is not a dangerous curve if you are driving the speed limit!!! they must have been driving extremely out of control to cause such a bad accident...sad to say but at least they didnt kill anybody else while they were out drinking and driving like madmen.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs Madrid. I have never met you but I want you to know that you're son is not at fault. I'm sure there are people out there who blame him, but please know that there is no one to blame but the person who let them leave her house intoxicated. Please pursuit this and have your questions answered.

My prayers go out to families of all victims of this accident. I just wonder why did the mom of one the deceased let these children leave when she knew she shouldnt have. I would like to know if this is being investigated. I'm sure there are things still unanswered. Mrs. Madrid youre son is not at fault. There is an adult that should have been more responsible and not have let those boys leave her house. Please Pursuit it some more. Mrs. Madrid keep asking questions of the person who's hou

Ms. Madrid, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very difficult time. I helped plan a benefit for a dear friend of mine who was also in a car accident in May where they lost a 24 yr. old nephew, I was directed to your place of buissness on Foley St. where I met you for the first time and you so unselfishlly bought some tickets to help support this BBQ benefit. Thank you very much and God Bless you and fill your heart with peace.
