KIIITV News

The holidays will be here before you know it and no where are they more aware of that than at Corpus Christi Metro Ministries.

Today, they kicked off their holiday food drive. This is the 8th year for the drive, which is aimed at providing holiday meals for the less fortunate.

The oraganization relies on donations of turkeys and all the trimmings to fill the freezer at the Loaves & Fishes  Cafeteria on Leopard Street.

If you would like to help fill it up, just stop by loaves and fishes from 9am till 4 Monday through Saturday, and from 9 am to 11 am on Sunday.

Here's a list of items that are needed:

Ham, Turkey or Pork Rolls, Chicken, Ground Beef, Sausage
Frozen or Canned (gallon cans) Vegetables, Canned Yams/Sweet Potatoes
Bags of Rice, Beans, Instant Powered Potatoes, Stuffing Mix, Chicken Broth
Cakes, Pies, Marshmallows
Pudding and Applesauce in Ready-to-Eat Single Serving Size Cups
Rolls and Bread, Margarine or Butter
Paper Plates & Napkins, 8-12 ounce Foam Cups, Plastic Forks and Spoons.
