In Kleberg county, about a hundred people have lost their jobs after a uranium mining operation shut down. County leaders say the fall of the price of uranium led to the cut-backs in the company, residents living in the area say the uranium mining operation has contaminated their water supply for years. The company is required by law to return the groundwater to its original standards due to the  company's cutbacks, they won't be able to do that right away said county leaders .
