The Spring Break tradition takes a brotherly turn as a number of students visiting the area are trading in their swimsuits for a hammer.

Students from San Antonio, South Dakota and and Ohio are in town this week, lending a helping hand to  Habitat for Humanity. For some the choice for an alternative spring break is an annual one.

Josh Hodnichak from Cleveland, Ohio, told Kiii News that their volunteer work has become a tradition, "This is the third year we've done this. Last year we went to South Carolina, and New Orleans the year before that. It's going really well. We're really enjoying it here. Last year we did roofing so we're excited to do something a little bit different-- some framing."

The groups will work through the week before heading back to school.
