   More trouble looms on the horizon for the problem plagued
Corpus Christi state school.

   Now, several organizations representing a wide variety of people with disabilities and seniors citizens are asking that the facility be closed.

   Rudy Trevino reports on a protest that's planned to get the message across to law makers.

I am a current state school employee and i cant believe these advocacy suits wants to shut the state school down. They dont have a clue with what kinda residents live at the state school. Its not just residents in wheelchairs that are severly disabled. We have residents who are registered pedophiles and criminals. You tell me, do you think these individuals should be out in the community where they could easily reoffend. Putting children in danger, aswell as themselves.

Why would any right thinking person in Nueces County want to close one of the top ten employers and PAYROLLS! We are YOUR neighbors who shop at your stores and restaurants. Be realistic and understand that CLOSING the facility would not solve anything. Our individuals ARE in a community of THEIR own - where they can walk freely not be held back. No neighborhood would allow our folks out and about - they have more freedom and protection in their homes at CCSS.

To the staff that are doing a great job. Thank You, keep up the good work. Do not listen to the stupidity of protesters or advocacy groups. They are there 5 minutes every once in a while just to ask a couple of questions to whoever will talk to them. Staff that are doing a good job and are caring and compassionate like myself, You are appreciated and respected and thanked for everything you are doing to help keep our residents safe and secure. To condem over 800 employees and 300 residents based on the actions of 11 employees is the definition of irresponsibility! Take responsibility Austin, and find solutions to help these residents and staff. The advocacy group has upset staff and residents alike -- how responsible does that sound to you?? If you are that concerned, please come in and help us take care of our people!

Are they willing to let them live in their own neighborhoods where these people can wander around and break into their homes and scare their children? These people do not realize the extensive amount of problems these residents have, and many are violent.
