In 2 Thousand and 4 then high school senior Yadira Moya gave birth to a baby girl two weeks prior to graduating from a small high school in Concepcion, Texas. After watching her baby girl struggle for her health, she vowed to educate herself in her babys honor. Fast forward five years later and little Marivetta Moya is a bouncing 4 year old soon to turn five. Yadira did it after leaving her parents home in Falfurrias and joning her husband who was already in Corpus Christi. She got a job at C.C.I.S.D. as a school crossing guard where she was encouraged by several school teachers to sign up at Del Mar College to further her education. Now Yadira is scheduled to graduate this week, summa cum laude, with two associate degrees......one in english and the other in history. She majored in Native American studies and her goal is to teachers to use modern contemporary native american authors in the classroom. She tells 3-News that famliy support, co-workers encouragement and all the resources available at Del Mar College  helped her reach her educational goal. She encourages any young mother to stay focused and with family support you too can accomplish anything.
