A grass fire in Aransas County shut down a coastal bend highway and threatened some homes Monday morning.

The blaze started around 11:30 a.m. on Highway 35 in the Fulton area.

It burned about 10 acres near the Copano Bay Causeway. There were homes and a RV park complex in the area.

Volunteer firefighters put it out within an hour and half. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
