Two people are dead, the apparent victims in a murder / suicide.

Police were called out to a home in the 300 block of Santa Monica Place a little after 4 a.m. Monday. According to police, a caregiver was called to the home to help an elderly woman who had fallen and injured herself.

When the caregiver arrived on scene she found the woman shot in the head and an edlerly man, believed to be the woman's husband, with a gun in his hand.

As the caregiver fled the scene she heard a gunshot go off. Police later discovered the man with a gun shot wound to the head.

Police are still investigating.

Does anyone know if they had children? This is truly sad. I quit my job 5 yrs ago to care for my 80 yr old mother. It is a 24hr job, but I feel good about myself to make this sacrifice.
