Driver and Passenger Trapped in Car Following Overnight Accident

Two people had to be rescued from a car early this morning after it slammed into a pole near a construction site.

The 24-year-old driver was trapped in her seat as she waits for emergency crews to pry her out. The single vehicle accident happened just after 2:30 this morning in the 3700 block of Staples near Weber. The driver and her 25-year-old male passenger both had to be rescued from their car which was totaled.

Speed is believed to be a factor. The two were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
