Barbecues, fireworks and parties. All traditions on the 4th of July. But on the day american's celebrate independence. there are truly many ways in which to show your American pride.
There are the flags of course. Many of them on this day before the Fourth as residents and entire neighborhoods get a head start to the holiday, Old glory, flying proud.
"Yah its great to see people get in the spirit of things."
At businesses everywhere. red, white and blue are the colors of choice. At Andy's Kitchen, it certainly is and customers love it.
"It is it is always great to see somebody, anybody thats patriotic and putting up decorations, especially in Texas," said Jason Green, was enjoying the holiday. "I notice people are very patriotic and even around the neighborhoods people put out the red white and blue, put out the flags. In my front actually i have an American flag thats on a little post outside my front door. "
At Moody's Quality Meats, well the 4th of July it's a very good and, a very busy weekend.
The spirit of independence is very much alive and Texans know how to celebrate it very well.
"South Texas, we bar-b-que all the time," said Terry Munch, owner of the Moody's Quality Meats. "Its summer time. its paradise man."
But we found proof you don't have to be an American or even a Texan to enjoy an American holiday.
"I am canadian but i still celebrate with my family," said Trish Heilman, "They're all american and they're all down here so i do what they do? Rudy: and how are you going to celebrate it? possibly going to the beach, possibly playing some tennis and barbecing.
So independence, no matter what country your from, when in america, we celebrate the U.S.A.

Way to Go, TV3!! Andy's Kitchen is a great place to feature for a real look at what being an American means. The owner, Agie Dominguez, came from Mexico many years ago. She earned her American citizenship. She worked her way up through the ranks, serving as a waitress for years and years. Now, she works hard every day to make her American dream a vibrant reflection of her belief in this great country. Eating at Andy's is good for the tummy and the soul. God Bless America!
