The County has been trying to remove hundreds of tires buried in a ravine at Hazel Bazemore Park. But, after a study to plan that work, archaeologists discovered fire-cracked rock and debris from stone tool making just lying around on the ground. That now means that a more intensive research study is about to begin there. It will include digging up the site and looking for evidence of perhaps an old campground or a burial ground.
