City staff didn't waste any time today after the Brass Real Estate proposal met a cold shoulder from a majority of Corpus Christi City Council.  Today staff spent more than an hour on a conference call with representatives from Austin-based National Swim Center.  Watch this story.

This city will never be anything, the last proposal would of put so many people to work especially during this recession. and created a place for visitors and tourist, this city will always remain a slum. Put a pool down town? Which council members kid is on a swim team? Put the pool on the other side of town! and Re-deveolpe down town into a tourist haven, before you run this city into the ground, give people something fantastic!

I believe Nelda Martinez and Chris Adler do make careful and educated choices for our city. There was something that stunk to them in the negotiations with Brass. Give the coliseum to the Ice Rays or continue new negotiations with Brass.

This is NUTS!!! It is really STUPID to even consider a huge swimming pool on the beach. Storm serge comes to mind, and maintenance with shifting instability will be a constant -- very expensive chore. PUT the swim center at the fledging fairgrounds, and GIVE the MC to the Ice Rays!!! Get it over and DONE!!

Mark Scott the light to your Political Career is quickly dimming. I hope your counter parts pull away from your hateful ways. They should treat you like you have H1N1 or the Bird Flu Virus. Better yet check the pulse to your political career. Do you hear it thats right you don't. Its dead and done. One thing I can say about you, you are not a flounder, you didn't flip flop. You at least have a backbone unlike Marez, Adler and Crazy hair Martinez. Someone call 911 no pulse to his political career

The only thing diminishing in Corpus is Mark Scott's political career. Did you hear him on John Lago show talking open and freely about what is being talked in executive session. Major violation to Texas State Law. The following week he is Lago show and he than states he can not talk about executive session. Where are the Texas State Rangers? Arrest Mark Scott and charge him with violation of state law.

Mark Scott is conflicted out. He works for the ABC Center where the Ice Rays play. It is in his best interest to vote against Brass. Mayor Adame is not conflicted out he just has bad attnys giving his bad legal advice.

I heard the Mayor owns property around the site but not the property within the site. If the Mayor's property is depreciated because of the lack development, why can't he take advantage of the increase in value should the property be developed? I don't believe his property within the area is a conflict of interest because he doesn't own property within the boundaries of the proposed area. Brent Chesney is conflicted because he is a minority owner of the Ice Rays and they currently rent the ABC
