The month of November will have many heading to the voting polls. Tomorrow, Tuesday November 3rd, one topic of concern focuses on Texas beaches.

Proposition 9 is designed to protect public access to Texas beaches. If passed, the proposition would make the open beaches act a part of the state's constitution.

The act which has been in effect since 1959, gives visitors access to areas of the beach between the tide line and the vegetation line.

Sunday, the local chapter of the Surf-Rider Foundation and members of the Beach Access Coalition came together to rally support from beach goers.

Neil McQueen of the Surf-Rider Foundation says, "I think the beaches are very important to all Texans. One of the reasons people live in Corpus Christi, people come from all over the state, they expect to have access, huge economic driver for our economy."

Opposition to Prop 9 say vegetation lines which are pushed back by storms could erode private property rights for land and home owners.
the election will be held tomorrow....
