The Texas Department of Insurance is hoping to inform residents about several issues, including, finding windstorm insurance for your home, actions impacting windstorm insurance, protecting you and your family against a disaster, seven steps for a safe home, and strengthening your home against hurricanes. A seminar is schedule for this Wednesday, June 20th from 5:30pm to 7pm at the Texas Department of Transportation Building 2 located at 1701 SPID.

According to Ben Garcia, a Program Specialist with the Texas Department of Insurance, the first thing you need to know if you are getting interest to the Texas Insurance Association you need to have a certificate of compliance and a w p i 88 in order to have insurance through them and get the wind and coverage. Garcia also says, if you're doing any thing...a new structure if you' re doing a new roof, changing the siding on your house, the windows at the doors brought short, then you would need it to have it inspected call the Texas Department of Insurance at 881-9463
