If you get your kicks playing soccer, your body is benefiting in more ways than one.

A new study finds practicing soccer as little as two times a week can help diabetes sufferers by lowering blood pressure, pulse rate, and body fat.

University of Copenhagen researchers studied a group of inactive men with high blood pressure and were asked to practice soccer twice a week for three months. Results show the men had lower blood pressure, a lower resting pulse rate, and a decrease in body fat percentage.

Playing soccer keeps your pulse rate high and you're performing multiple intense actions like sprints, turns, and kicks.

If soccer is not your game, consult your physician, get up, and do something - exercise is key to maintaining your diabetes.
