Last night Lana and Barry Andrews of Andrews Distributing were honored. The couple was recognized honored for all they've done in the fight against cancer here in the Coastal Bend.

The American Cancer Society held a VIP party to recognize the Andrews, who have been involved with the Society and the Cattle Baron's Ball for the last 24 years. Andrews has hosted the ball at his Papalote Ranch for 8 of those years.

Kiii News interviewed them last night and they said they were honored by the recognition.

Barry Andrews: 'It's also a great charity to be involved in and help those who are trying to help themselves and the researchers are doing what they can to find a cure for this dreaded disease."

In the last 23 years the local Cattle Barron's event has raised a total of $3.4 million to fight cancer in the Coastal Bend.

Natural Gas

Should the city of Corpus Christi privatize its natural gas system or keep it under city ownership?

  • Yes. Sell it and let private business run it.
  • No. Keep it as a city department.
  • I don't know.
