A school bus ride home turns deadly.  12 students from Flour Bluff Elementary are said to be shaken up but otherwise fine.  It happened just after 3 Tuesday afternoon in the 8000 block of Yorktown Blvd near Mud Bridge.  A truck rear ended the school bus, killing the driver of the truck instantly.  He and his vehicle were pinned under the bus.  At the time of the collision, the bus had stopped to drop off a student. As for the kids on board, some were picked up at the accident scene by their parents.  Others were transported back home on another bus. The driver's body has been taken to the medical examiners office, where it will be determined if alcohol or a medical condition played a role in the accident.  Counselors will be on hand at the elementary school tomorrow to talk with students about the disturbing images they may have seen at the accident site.

So much for free press. KIII removed my post for making fun of their editors' inability to spell.

Corpus Christi City Budget

Corpus Christi city revenues aren't keeping up with the budget. What's the city to do? Cut expenses, raise taxes?

  • Small cuts in services and small tax rate hikes.
  • Drastic cuts in city services, no tax increases.
  • Reduce city employee salaries and benefits
  • Reduce all city services including pay cuts, and raise taxes
