Alice man arrested after crashing into police unit twice

According to the Alice Echo News Journal, 22-year-old Matthew Paul Soliz was arrested around 2 a.m. Friday after he crashed into an Alice Police Department police unit that was parked on North Johnson Street.

ALICE (KIII NEWS) - An Alice man was arrested Friday after he crashed his vehicle into a parked police unit twice.

According to the Alice Echo-News Journal, 22-year-old Matthew Paul Soliz was arrested around 2 a.m. Friday after he crashed into an Alice Police Department police unit that was parked on North Johnson Street.

Police said Soliz crashed into the vehicle twice, and when the officer got out of his unit, Soliz' foot was still on the gas and his car's tires were spinning.

Soliz admitted to officers that he had a few drinks at a local bar before the accident. While searching his vehicle, they also found marijuana.

Officers arrested Soliz for aggravated assault against a public servant, driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.
