Amber Alert issued for missing Bullard girl

CHEROKEE COUNTY - 12:08 UPDATE: A prayer vigil for Kayla is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight at the First Baptist Church in Bullard. 

11:07 UPDATE: The vehicle described in the original alert is no longer valid and we have not yet received any new information. 



The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 10-year-old girl from Bullard, Texas.
An Amber Alert was issued for Kayla Gomez just after midnight. They believe she was abducted and could be in grave or immediate danger. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's office, Kayla was taken from the church lobby.
Gomez is 4 feet tall and weighs about 90 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black Racquet and Jog shirt with a peach colored skirt. The possible suspect is driving a red, Cadillac SRX and was last heard from in Bullard. 

Kayla is a Jack Elementary student. Tyler ISD sent the following statement:
Tyler ISD is confirming that an Amber Alert has been issued for Kayla Gomez a Jack Elementary School student.  A FBI task force will be at the Jack campus to investigate the situation. The District is assisting in the process as requested from officials.  
Counselors will also be at the campus to provide assistance and support as needed for staff and students.
