Aransas Pass prepares for "Kari's Law"

A new State law goes into effect September 1st across the State. It's called "Kari's Law".

ARANSAS PASS (KIII NEWS) - A new State law goes into effect September 1st. It's called "Kari's Law". It's named for a woman who was stabbed to death by her husband several years ago.

The couple's young child tried to call 911 from the motel room but did not know that she had to dial 9 first to get the call to go through.

Lawmakers stepped in and beginning September 1st businesses with multi-line telephone systems must provide direct access to 911 through those devices.
Our Michael Gibson shows us how the City of Aransas Pass is making sure that businesses there are following the new law.
